Daryl is a laid-back, handsome brindle with a sweet, calm demeanor, and gives the best dog hugs ever! The true hound that he is, he loves long walks with his nose to the ground or in the air to make sure those pesky squirrels stay up in the trees.  But don’t let him fool you, he has a funny, mischievous side as well.  If his nose can reach it, his mouth can eat it, but only when you’re not looking.  

While Daryl is happy moseying along, Jessie’s ready to put the pedal to the metal.   She puts the “sass” in sassafras!   When this girl gets excited, clear the floor, ‘cause she likes to dance like no one’s watching!  This little fashionista somehow matched her eyes to her coat, she’s a real beauty!  But there’s nothing she loves more than snuggling up with you on the couch.  That is, once you move her over an inch and squeeze in beside her.  She’s not giving up her spot easily!

They may be polar opposites, but they agree that they are looking for somebody with a lot of love to give…and treats(bones)…and cuddles…and belly/butt rubs and, oh yeah, a big yard would be great because, well, they’re not the best on leash, but they’re getting better!

Fetch is her absolute favorite game, and with her great recall and leash manners, she’s a dream to take on walks. Luna knows all the basics like “drop it,” sit, down, kennel, and “load up.”

She’s looking for a home without small kids or cats, as they make her a little nervous. Due to her past, where she was picked on by another dog, she’d thrive as the only female pup in the home. If you’re looking for a playful, loyal companion who will keep you laughing, Luna is your girl! 

Gorda is a gentle soul looking for her forever home! This sweet Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua mix does well with other small dogs and enjoys their company. Gorda is still learning to trust people and appreciates having time and patience from her humans. Once she feels safe, she’ll warm up and be your loyal snuggle buddy. Due to her preference for a quieter environment, Gorda would do best in a home with adults or children over 12. My name is Averi and I am an independent girl.

I like to spend my days being lazy on the couch in and out of naps or sun bathe outside protecting my house.

When my humans are home I love to go on walks in the neighborhood or go for a hike.

I can get quite anxious and new people can be scary to me. I like to initiate interactions with people and once I know you’re my human I love you with all of my heart.

The perfect home for me is one with adults only and no other pets that could make me anxious. I cannot interact with children as they make me extremely anxious and uncomfortable.

Bucky is a 4 year old black Labrador Retriever mix. He is a stage 5 clinger and loves to cuddle and be close! Bucky has the softest fur, and would love to be pet constantly. 

Bucky is house-trained and very energetic, so he would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard. He knows sit, down, place, and “put ‘r there” (shake). 

Bucky has lived with children younger than 8 and has done well with them, but would most likely do best with older children or no children, as he can be a bit anxious with new people.

He would love to have a dog friend his age because he is very playful and might enjoy a friend who can keep up with him. He would also do well in a home as the only pet, because he loves to be the center of attention!

Bucky is also used to having his people work from home, so he would do well in a home where he is not left alone too often.

Kylie is a 7 year old cattle dog looking for a new home. She has lots of energy and loves to be the center of attention! She can do well with other dogs, but prefers to be the queen in her castle. 

She is eager to please and in tune with human emotions. Her favorite past times are taking long, sniffy walks and lounging on the couch with her humans.

Bubba

Things you’ll love:

Bubba is smart and very loyal to his people. He really loves to lay down at the foot of the bed and spoon with a human which is just maybe one of the most incredible feelings in the world.

He’s independent and will check in every once and awhile. He loves to be outside and he loves putting his head in your chest while you cover his head. I’m sure you will discover many other funny things about him.

…but really if you wanna make him the happiest tell him it’s time to go on a walk. He will grumble and wag his whole body.

Bubba is a quiet dog unless he is alerted to someone at the door. He doesn’t bark with a passerby.

Bubba has been around many dogs, but in my opinion, he would be best as a lone dog or with a calm dog that will give him space. Bubba has lived with and done well with cats. 

Things to work on: leash walking. he pulls because he’s just so dang excited.

He doesn’t dig but he pushes his back legs back when he’s outside. It’s also funny.

Kona is a beautiful boxer mix who will be 3 years old this May. She is full of love, joy, and personality, and she has the biggest heart. She forms strong bonds with her people and truly just wants to be close to those she loves.

She is a high-energy girl who needs space to run, play, and be herself, so a home with a backyard is very important for her. Kona would do best as the only pet where she can soak up all the love and attention, though a calm, small dog may be okay with the right match and slow introduction.

She is house trained and crate trained. She would thrive in a home with a family or individual who is home most of the time and can give her the time, exercise, and companionship she needs. Kona is loyal, people-focused, and wants nothing more than to be someone’s constant companion.

Hi, I’m Zeus, a 6-year-old Mastiff–Rottweiler mix weighing in at a totally manageable 103 lbs (even though I firmly believe I’m lap-sized). If you’re looking for world-class cuddles, look no further. I was surrendered to my foster by my family because my parents were getting divorced. Neither could find space for me in their new homes. It's been a hard transition but I'm finally coming out of my shell.

I’m sweet, soft-hearted, and full of love, living up to the title of gentle giant. I adore dogs, do great with kids, and I’m totally cool with cats—no chasing, just peaceful coexistence. I’m fully potty trained, walk beautifully on a leash (no pulling here!), and I know my basics commands like sit and drop it. I am a good boy and proud of it.

Even though I am 6 at heart, I’m still a big puppy. My determination to catch my own tail and joyful energy is guaranteed to make you laugh even on your worst day. Toys? Oh, I love them… but fair warning: if it squeaks, I will surgically remove the squeaker with my teeth. 

A few things I’m working on:

I can be shy and bark when people show up unannounced, men especially, but I’m working hard on my confidence. Public outings are helping a lot, and I’m improving every day. I don’t love being alone and would do best with someone who has time for me—or even better, another medium to large dog to keep me company. I’m a bit of a counter surfer and an occasional trash inspector. A locked trash can solves that problem completely. But my foster has yet to find a place high enough on her shelves to keep me from having a second breakfast. I'm clever but not destructive.

Buddy likes kids that are old enough to understand boundaries, we recommend 10 and older.

Buddy loves toys and puzzles. He is food motivated and loves to learn! 

Buddy has had Pannus since puppyhood, so wearing his goggles outside are a must. He prefers an owner who will take him on walks or fetch daily. Due to his eye sensitivity, his hearing is heightened- so he needs a peaceful house over an apartment setting.

Rip loves kids and is very gentle with them, he also does great with other dogs and loves to go to the dog park.

Rip's ideal home would be experienced with dogs; he still has some puppy behavior that needs training. Rip can be destructive and is jumpy and mouthy. His adopters must be prepared to continue his training using positive reinforcement. His adoption includes a free training session!

Zion is a big-hearted, 85+ lb cuddle enthusiast who’s convinced he’s a lap dog—and honestly, he pulls it off. He’s incredibly smart, deeply loyal, and happiest when he’s close to his person.

Zion would do best as the only dog in the home. He can be a little unsure in new situations and has some lingering anxiety around other dogs, but with people he’s gentle, submissive, and very loving. 

He’s an active guy who loves to run, play fetch, and stretch his legs, but he also thrives on mental stimulation. He loves puzzle toys and learning new things! He has great recall and has done beautifully with off-leash time in a safe environment.

Zion isn’t kennel trained, but he’s trustworthy at home (he currently hangs out in the laundry room when left alone and does just fine). He’s also a pro with the doggie door.

He’ll be turning 3 on April 7 and is looking for an experienced, patient owner who understands sensitive dogs and will help him continue to build confidence. In return, you’ll get a loyal, affectionate companion who just wants to be your shadow.
