The true hound that he is, he loves long walks with his nose to the ground or in the air to make sure those pesky squirrels stay up in the trees.  But don’t let him fool you, he has a funny, mischievous side as well.  If his nose can reach it, his mouth can eat it, but only when you’re not looking.  

While Daryl is happy moseying along, Jessie’s ready to put the pedal to the metal.   She puts the “sass” in sassafras!   When this girl gets excited, clear the floor, ‘cause she likes to dance like no one’s watching!  This little fashionista somehow matched her eyes to her coat, she’s a real beauty!  But there’s nothing she loves more than snuggling up with you on the couch.  That is, once you move her over an inch and squeeze in beside her.  She’s not giving up her spot easily!

They may be polar opposites, but they agree that they are looking for somebody with a lot of love to give…and treats(bones)…and cuddles…and belly/butt rubs and, oh yeah, a big yard would be great because, well, they’re not the best on leash, but they’re getting better!

Spirit is a loving protective companion who loves to go for car rides and short walks. He does have a myelopathy in his back end which makes him wobble a bit while walking. Bucky is a 4 year old black Labrador Retriever mix. He is a stage 5 clinger and loves to cuddle and be close! Bucky has the softest fur, and would love to be pet constantly. 

Bucky is house-trained and very energetic, so he would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard. He knows sit, down, place, and “put ‘r there” (shake). 

Bucky has lived with children younger than 8 and has done well with them, but would most likely do best with older children or no children, as he can be a bit anxious with new people.

He would love to have a dog friend his age because he is very playful and might enjoy a friend who can keep up with him. He would also do well in a home as the only pet, because he loves to be the center of attention!

Bucky is also used to having his people work from home, so he would do well in a home where he is not left alone too often.

Bubba

Things you’ll love:

Bubba is smart and very loyal to his people. He really loves to lay down at the foot of the bed and spoon with a human which is just maybe one of the most incredible feelings in the world.

He’s independent and will check in every once and awhile. He loves to be outside and he loves putting his head in your chest while you cover his head. I’m sure you will discover many other funny things about him.

…but really if you wanna make him the happiest tell him it’s time to go on a walk. He will grumble and wag his whole body.

Bubba is a quiet dog unless he is alerted to someone at the door. He doesn’t bark with a passerby.

Bubba has been around many dogs, but in my opinion, he would be best as a lone dog or with a calm dog that will give him space. Bubba has lived with and done well with cats. 

Things to work on: leash walking. he pulls because he’s just so dang excited.

He doesn’t dig but he pushes his back legs back when he’s outside. It’s also funny.

Meet Patches!

He is a 2 year old chihuahua mix looking for a home with experience with small dogs. 

Once he gets to know you he is a love bug! He will jump into your arms for snuggles. He loves getting his zoomies going in the yard and laying out for some sun.

Patches needs some training and work on his house manners.

He does well with kids and other dogs. 

Hi there, I’m Lucky — a 65-pound tank with a gorgeous soft brindle coat that begs to be pet. I’m three years old, neutered, and equipped with ears that stand at attention with a little curl at the tip to let you know I don’t take life too seriously. My mottled tongue tends to do the whole “melting-hearts” thing when I’m relaxed and smiling, and I’m a world-class cuddler who falls fast for my person. 

I am fully house-trained, okay with being crated when my human is away, and I snooze straight through the night in my crate without a peep. I’m a world-class cuddler who falls fast for my person, but I’m polite about it — I respect the “good sofa” and my foster mom’s bed as dog-free zones. On walks, I stride along happily with excellent, if unrefined, leash manners; I’m interested in the world around me and not overreactive to people and dogs we see along the way.

I’ve lived with multiple dogs and cats before, and I’m currently thriving with two big dog buddies who are helping me practice the arts of the joyful zoom and the playful roughhouse (I am still learning to regulate my intensity level). I have a ton of energy, but I’m content to settle down after playtime, fold myself onto a dog bed, and recharge for my next adventure. I’m just starting to learn the language of “sit,” “stay,” and “come,” but think I might be a quick study! Praise and unending affection are my best motivators.
